Process of Elimination

Today is February 06th, 2025, and it marks the one year anniversary of my decision to radically change my diet to achieve better health. 12 months ago I focused not only on what was “good” for my body, but just as importantly, eliminating that which was not.

If your goal is to be as healthy, elimination plays a vital role in that process. You can increase the “good,” but if you don’t eliminate the “bad,” while you may marginally get better, you’ll never achieve maximum health.

This is true not only in regard to your physical body, but to your emotional and spiritual makeup as well.

Over the past few days I’ve looked at the “before” and “after” photos that capture my physical transformation. Looking at the “before” isn’t easy, and to be honest, I can’t relate to that guy anymore. But there’s also no denying that was me.

My transformation didn’t come from a short term commitment to a temporary “diet,” but a lifetime commitment to change my way of eating. As I began this journey I shared my plans with my daughters and my physician. They all asked the same question.

“Do you think it’s sustainable?”

The honest answer was, “I’m not sure, but I guess I’ll find out.”

And I did.

And now it’s time to embark on a new journey.

Transformation of the soul (mind, well, and emotions) and the spirit.

This also requires the process of elimination.

As a Believer, from the very moment you were born again, it is the will of the Father for you to be transformed into the image of the Son. We are called, all of us, to become like Jesus.

You don’t hear the word “sanctification” much anymore, but as Believers we are to be “set apart” from the world. And you can’t be set apart if unwilling to let go of the “things” in the world that prohibit transformation.

Romans 12:2 says we are “transformed by the renewing of our minds,” and for many of us, that will happen only with a radical change in our daily spiritual diet.

Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal the toxic things in your life that need to be eliminated, and then ask for the power to do so. God never intended for you do this on your own.

“for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.” Philippians 2:13

Transformation requires elimination, and for the record, it’s sustainable.

That was so good. I did strict carnivore for 30 months, went off thyroid medication, all my aches and pains had been eliminated, it was wonderful. But when Jason passed away something in me broke and emotionally I just fell apart. My diet went to pot, I had one injury after another, more loss, shoulder surgery……in spite of it all I kept showing up, to church, to bible study, to the gym, but I don’t think I would of been able to do it without my accountability people. I call them my Tribe 😊 Faithful women, who have prayed me through a really tough year and a half. I’m so grateful for the lessons learned in suffering and that my God is always Faithful! I’m in a good place now, Praise God! I’m praying for a long season of calm waters. Just thought I’d share.
